Be very careful and do not pay for your furniture in advance! I ordered two chairs in a certain colour of wood and leather. The wrong colour arrived and I did not accept the order. The manager phoned and screamed filthy abuse such as I have never heard in real life before, and he refused to change my order or refund the several thousand dollars we had paid. After discussions with lawyers and an employee there we were sent the chairs in the correct colour but now the wrong size. I can't face being sworn and shouted at again so will live with the wrong chairs -- but I do warn future customers to avoid attacks by the manager and never pay until the correct furniture arrives.

Very clean showroom. Standard Furniture was recommended to me by my brother and I can see why. I would definitely suggest stopping in to have a look!

After a negative experience dealing with Standard furniture in Victoria this past summer, I contacted the owner of the store who stepped up and took care of the issue right away. The fact that they really wanted to make sure that the problem was solved in the best way possible confirms that this company does the right thing and goes above and beyond to make sure their customers are happy with their experience dealing with Standard.

I have not purchased anything from Standard Furniture. Yesterday my husband and I went to the showroom to look for a new sofa, chair and ottoman. The sales rep was very knowledgeable, we found a set we liked, were handed a book of samples to chose from. We asked where was a fabric sample of the floor model and were told the fabric on the floor model was a much more expensive price then the price that was written. The floor sample would have the less expensive fabric put on for that price. The price of the items on the floor was quoted for a 'grade 5' fabric, what we were looking at was a 'grade 15' and each grade adds around $100. per piece. Yikes, big difference. End of story, ask questions, make sure you're getting what you're looking at and the price on the floor model should be what you're getting, not the cheaper covering.

False advertising to my way of thinking.
