This hotel is conveniently located in Victoria's harbour, and an easy walk to most major attractions. Front desk staff and housekeeping staff were very friendly, however, during busy times, they could do with an express checkout for paid guests. Rooms are well maintained and clean, but hallway and surrounding noise carries easily. This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel, and both times we found there was quite a bit of noise coming from above. If you're looking for a really quiet hotel, this is probably not for you. I appreciate the hotel has green practices, because this is important to my partner and I, but we could do without the plastic cups in rooms. Lastly, they have breakfast on the premesis (paid, previously was free), but it ends at 10:00am. I found this a bit too early if you're on vacation -- at least on weekends. A number of times we saw couples arrive after 10:00am hoping for breakfast. Overall, a good stay in a well priced hotel. I found the beds to be much more comfortable than most hotels I've stayed in.

We have many people coming to Victoria where we quide their vacation and make recommendations where to stay and where to eat. Our list of places to visit and stay is long and always with good reason.

The one star rating is based on a couple factors however Carlos gets a 5 star rating as his service was awesome.

Private it was not as there were several mice scurrying around the floor during high tea. There was one other table being served high tea and likely they never noticed however these mice were close and seemingly undisturbed.

Location is great as it's in the habour but at the end so it's quiet. Still in walking distance of downtown and all the sites. Rooms are up to date and bed was comfy. Breakfast has changed from a set buffet to a menu. Breakfast also ends at 10am which is a bit early in my opinion.

Disappointed to say the least. More guests arriving and we simply will be directing them elsewhere.

The spread was average at best. A few of the pastries were not that fresh!

If you love "quaint", this is your place. It's right across the street from the Victoria Clipper and a couple of blocks from the Parliament buildings, the Empress Hotel and the harbor. Downtown Victoria begins less than .5 mile from the hotel. The hotel and rooms themselves are clean but the view from our room was that of the building next door, not very scenic. There is no air conditioning but the fan provided by the hotel was adequate. My only complaint is the beds which were very hard with little to no give. A pillow-top or egg carton mattress would've worked wonders. I also had an issue with the pillows. Each bed had two pillows: one VERY soft and the other VERY hard. I would stay here again but ONLY if the beds are upgraded and there was a happy medium with the pillows.

Nice bed, small room and simple bathroom. Our room looked over the courtyard towards the bay. Breakfast included, options with meat, served at sit-down table with server. Quick check-in, and check-out. Very close to clipper ferry dock, across the street. Starbucks coffee (one of 35+ in Victoria) is 2 blocks away.

We couldn't believe we were having high tea with mice.

This week our quests wanted to attend the empress for high tea. We strongly recommended the Huntingdon based on what we felt might be more private and a place with more character then the Empress. A switch too something new.
