Such a beautiful little park that no one seems to know about. It is probably mostly locals that use it. There is a swing set for the kids and lots of place to get a nice view of the city.

Large park, good to explore with many features. Good quantity of benches, no picnick tables though. Beautiful Gary oak trees everywhere with mostly indigenous plants.

A small urban park on a hilltop (hence the name), this is a good place for a walk in any season. In Spring the Garry Oak meadows are full of flowers (camas, buttercup, crocus and more). Even in winter the park is green with grass and bushes, contrasting with the stark, leafless trees. The main paths are smooth gravel with moderate slopes, suitable for all but the most severely mobility impaired; a wheelchair should be manageable with a bit of assistance. At the top of the hill is an old water reservoir, usually with a few ducks swimming around. There is a level path around the reservoir, but the stairs to reach that level are steep. The park can be a good place for birding, especially in Spring. Dogs are allowed, but must be on-leash at all times. There is a small playground area with swings and climbing bars at the edge of the park. Easy parking is available at the west side of the park, accessed via Summit Avenue (off Quadra Street).

Quiet, tucked away piece of nature in the middle of the city. One of my favourite places to go.

When the Friends of Summit park had dogs banned from the park it went from a place that felt safe from early morning until late at night do a place that is only used sparingly during the daylight hours. Now you can wander through and watch people shooting up or slice yourself open on broken bottles. That said at least now the precious Gary Oaks are safe, until someone burns the whole place down.
