  Let me just start by stating that if you are going to order any small animal do it through a different company. Anyway, a few weeks ago I decided that I wanted a hedgehog. After scouring through Kijiji/UsedVic and the SPCA I was unable to find one so I decided to order one through PetsWest. At first they were extremely helpful. They told me that they would order it and it would arrive either the Friday coming up (it was Wednesday at the time) or the next Friday. SO, the first Friday rolls around and I assume that it had not come in, so I wait. The next Friday rolls around and still nothing. So that following Monday I decide to venture into the store and find out what is going on. Turns out the had not even ordered it! I asked the lady who I was dealing with to call me when she was in. The next day I wake up to a voicemail from said lady who basically left a message on my phone making me feel like an idiot because she told me one thing and it ended up being their mistake. I don't know why i would "assume" it would come in on a certain date unless they told me it would come in on a certain date. Moral of the story is don't order pets through this company. The make you feel stupid and question your memory when really they are the ones that make the mistakes. As far as supplies and knowledge go they have a great selection and are very knowledgeable.

  Let me describe this place in a sentence. Great quality, kind and helpful staff, great selection of items and such. I got my hamsters "Hercules" from here. He loves the food that the staff recommend and the have great quality items. Small animals are placed in fairly large cages.

  Bought 3 consecutive Siamese fighter fish, realised they all had fin rot within days of getting them home. First one was 2 years ago. The most recent last week. Should have paid closer attention in the store each time, but so should the sellers who are supposed to be experts in the care of such. Not interested in the 14 day return policy....would much rather see these fish being better looked after in the first place.

  First visit, very good customer service. I was served by Chantelle, she was very understanding. I could tell their concern on running a healthy business by checking the kind of customer they sell their pets too. This is a pet shop like I would like to see more often.
