  Fancy grocery store. A bit pricy. Some normal priced items. Yuppie goods galore. Genetically superior produce. Can't beat the location, tho.

  A rare five star from me! They CREDIT your bill for each reusable bag you bring! Great selection of local meat. I even saw frogs legs there! And bison from Alberta! Prices can seem high but their lean ground beef was fresh and super cheap!

  Features an impressive selection of baked goods, many of which, if not everything, is made in-store by them. There's a little bit of everything, ranging from cake slices, squares, cookies, and pies: well-priced and clearly labelled. Being a supermarket, it can't come close to the treats I had at the amazing bakeries in town, but it was definitely one of the more interesting and appetizing supermarket bakeries! -- Mimi's Cake Tour

  In another review I did on this site I said that Fairways and Country grocer we're the only two locally owned stores and I was so wrong. I don't know how I forgotten about the market on Yates. This tiny chain of stores is owned by one of the pioneers of supermarkets in Victoria. They seem to have very high quality items generally speaking. Their meat and their fresh vegetables are hard to beat. With all this great quality, of course, prices will also be high so this is not for those on a budget. It is worthwhile though to watch their Flyers because they do have some good specials sometimes.

  Good selection of fruits and veggies, lots of good pasta (including fresh local pasta), good selection of interesting beverages. Losing stars because of really high prices, especially compared to other grocery stores in Victoria. Great selection but definitely extremely overpriced.
