  Over the years, both Phil Hogan and Brent England have been of great assistance with my taxes, which are complex due to international reporting requirements and several other factors. Their service has always been professional, more than competent, and responsive to my particular needs. My contacts with their team have been positive. They have also been invaluable with US filing requirements and with providing the most up-to-date advice on what could be a complicated and frustrating situation. I can highly recommend them!

  My husband and I have used Hutcheson & Co as our accountants for nearly a quarter of a century (!) and have been tremendously pleased. We have worked with several team members over the years; all have been knowledgeable about both Canadian and US taxation and give easily understood answers to our questions. We began with relatively simple needs but as our finances and investments grew our tax situation became more complex.   I have now been a client with Hutcheson & Co, for 15 years. Gerry retired and Phil Hogan and Rob Brown took over my account and they, too, have done a wonderful job. They handle both my US and Canadian personal taxes as well as my corporate tax filings.

  16 years ago, I was newly divorced, and handling my own finances and taxes for the first time in 19 years. For the first year I was at a big-name, well-known tax firm. When I told my friend what they had charged me for that first year, she and her husband hit the roof. They told me about their long-time accountant, Gerry Bunting at Hutcheson & Co, how good and honourable and smart he was. I met with him, agreed with her assessment. I switched firms that very afternoon. Not only did I feel safe, my tax/accountant bill was now WAY, WAY less that what I'd previously been charged!
