  there is a strange feeling when you are in a store, like you feel lost, and it is hard to find a friendly and knowledgeable person to help you out. Finally you find the help, but feelings are still strange...

  RACIST STAFF. My partner was invited to Canada from Mexico to have an exhibition and needed to buy a couple materials to complete his work. A very thin, bald, white man who works there followed him up and down the store 10 to 15 times during the 20 minutes my partner was looking for items to purchase, watching his every move. I am disgusted by this racist behaviour, while no other customers in the store were followed except my partner who is visibly of colour. Myself and my friends are boycotting your store until you fire this individual and we will be discussing this incident at the exhibition to make sure other artists do not come here as well. Given how many people of colour live in Victoria I am disappointed in this form of treatment. It is important to make sure those you hire for customer service work are not bias and treat people who aren't white as thieves.

  Really good prices at Opus, the staff are always friendly and happy to help - if you want it - and are fine if you just want time to poke around on your own. The sales are great and happen fairly regularly throughout the year; in-store workshops; website is super helpful too with helpful links and ways to contribute for a truly artists community....... just wish there was a location in Saanich :o)
